GSS was back in the Green Room Friday evening for some piping hot guitar action. Schneid's mission was to "bring it" and brought it was in the form of acoustic dreamscapes, sweet solos, and a touch more!!
Drums, bass, and now guitar are officially FINISHED. We're all very pleased with how things are shaping up and can't wait to ruin it with vocals!
That's a joke of course because, as you all know, our voices are fucking POWERFUL!!

Success!
During the course of today, we cursed the Sox offense, the Bears offense, and also finished 5.75 of the 7 songs we intended to do. (Some punch-ins might be necessary, and we still have to do Reduced to Waves...ugh)
This was a surprise, we flew through them, but I guess boot-camping did us good. Most of the songs took between 2 and 3 takes. 10 Million Hammers took one.

Saturday Morning
Arriving at noon, we needed someone to push the record button on the console, or else this would become fucking annoying, luckily, Sam wasnt doing anything, and he's got new kicks with Blu-Ray in 'em

So we had everything, and were ready to go, everything sounded great...but Green Room had OTHER ideas....
This required a quick trip to Music Lab for some new XLRs, for some reason ,this solved the problem...and we were ready to start.

Schneider Arrives
Green Room Awakens!
With the sounds of METAL. Friday night I loaded in around 4pm. I was nervous about this recording session because it can be a big pain in the ass for drummers. It's hard NOT to get studio fever when you know that ever take must be (almost) perfect to keep. That's because we done roll with fancy-pants ProTools. Nope, at Green Room, we use Alesis ADATs...and buggy ones at that.

Brett set up all the mics and we quickly got some tones, everything was running smoothly

Bienias' watchful eye makes sure that Brett does not try to imitate the Devildriver drum sound

Live tonight: a final tuneup
We're playing at the Beat Kitchen tonight, in a final tuneup before hitting the studio. We were supposed to be tracking drums this weekend, but felt a live show at a nice venue would help in preparing us for the task ahead. Plus, it gave me some time to buy some new cymbals, and Bienias some time for his flesh to heal:
Should be a great show tonight with Blood of the Tyrant and Seven Day Sonnet, and I hope the nice weather attracts more people than the end of the weekend will shoo away. It'll be interesting to see how some new songs go over, this will be the first time playing "Beta" live, and that one coupled with "Reduced to Waves", is a gauntlet.
We'll be up and live this Friday, I'm going to be loading in drums, taking pics and bothering Brett. It'll be tough next weekend, but I'm hoping to "zone it".
